Monthly Activities
Book
Club - 3rd Tuesday, 7pm in the Fireplace Room A grass roots effort without question. All are welcome to this diverse gathering. The books are chosen by the group often
following a presentation by a Village Books representative.
Lunch
Bunch - 2nd Wednesday, location by monthly announcement If you have an appetite,
you are qualified you for this group. An informal gathering of people who enjoy
food and the company of others meet monthly at restaurants often suggested by
those attending. No programs, no study groups, no meeting -- just good food and
fellowship. That's what Lunch Bunch is!
Sign up on the kiosk in the church narthex if you
wish to attend. Soup & Roll Lunches
- 2nd Sundays
following church (school year) For a donation to the kitchen fund, you are
welcome to fill what hungers with homemade soup and rolls to accompany. What follows
is a full stomach and a good time enjoying the company of those you share a table
with.
Women's Fellowship - a
gathering of women who come/work/enjoy as they can, meeting at noon
on the Second Wednesday of the month, September through May. Our
goal is missions and our efforts go toward that end. They organize
the Fall Bazaar and monthly bake sales.
Wellness Programs - offered
throughout the year in the form of classes, posted information and sponsored activities
that focus on body, mind and spirit.

Activities
Harvest
Dinner - All of the good things of the fall come to
our tables on this Saturday including corn, pies, barbequed beef, salad and
potatoes.
It is a bounty of fellowship and good food, pre-tickets sold but all are invited
to come and enjoy. Rally Sunday - It is the first big gathering back after summer, when Sunday School
officially begins. There is celebration in the air as the children begin their
new grades and learning. Yule Sing - The United Church choir comes together to offer carols,
songs, skits and stories to bring us together in the busy season to sing, enjoy
and remember the true meaning of Christmas. Children's
Christmas Pageant - The Pageant is worship that day,
as the children tell and sing the Christmas Story in unique ways each year.
Usually the third Sunday of Advent.
Parent's Day Out - it's
a two-fold event parents bring their children to practice for the next day's pageant
and the parents get four hours child-free to do the business of the season.
Advent Celebration - Following the Christmas Pageant, we
gather for a meal with fun seasonal crafts to keep excited and busy
hands active in good ways that tell and remind all of the real
meaning of Christmas. Easter
People - The Sunday before Easter we gather after worship for a meal and fun
seasonal crafts for fun of all ages--chocolate included! Gospel
Fest - A gathering of area choirs each spring to "preach the word" through
the gift of gospel music. Proceeds support the Ferndale Food Bank. Old
Settler's Hymn Sing - As a church and community, we gather during the Old
Settler's Picnic at the log cabin church
in Pioneer Park to honor our heritage and to sing the hymns of our past and
present. Corn Feed - As soon as the corn is
ready, the word goes out for this traditional potluck gathering at the Clines.
We bring a dish to share, they provide the corn, a summer highlight! Rummage
Sale - The first Saturday in August we open our doors and offer each year's harvest
of treasures gathered from years past. Vacation
Bible School - Four churches strong, we gathered August 7th -11th at The
United Church of Ferndale to offer a week of Christian education and
fun for God's young children. All are welcome next year,
details to be announced. Worship in the Park
- We gather each summer with Bellingham's Congregational Church and Lummi Island Congregational
at 10am in Cornwall Park for worship together--story, song with potluck following.
Bring
an extra change of clothes for the splash park!
